Endless 30 years of endless musical journey of Pandit Ramesh Narayan
Ramesh Narayan, who has bagged awards as best music director, belongs to the rare genre of musicians who are not only well versed in the art and craft of their choice but also well informed of its social, cultural and philosophical dimensions. Born in Kerala, in a family of Carnatic Music, he attained his musical education from his family itself. The musical ambience in Ramesh Narayan’s family during his early childhood left a lasting impression on him and he, as a child, yearned to learn more and continued his training in Carnatic music up to the age of twenty years. Moving to Pune, he learnt Sitar under the tutelage of Shri. Satchidananda Phadke, a renowned disciple of the Sitar Maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar. Becoming a competent Sitarist in no time, Ramesh Narayan found himself captivated by Hindustani vocal. He joined the Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya and took his "Visharad" with high distinction. He felt entranced by the passionately evocative style of Parampoojya Guruji, Padma Vibhushan,Sangeeth Martand,Pandit Jasraj and resolved to hone his talent and technique under the Mewati Gharana Maestro. Pandit Jasraj gave him rigorous training for more than seven years in the subtler aspects of music, in traditional Guru Kula style. Ramesh Narayan accompanied Pandit Jasraj during several of his concerts.
One of his feats is a 30-hour concert he gave in dedication of his father and guru, the late Narayana Bhagavathar, and to Pandit Motiram, an exponent of the Mewati Gharana.
He has composed and rendered music for several feature films and television serials, directed by well- known Indian directors.
By year 2018 – Rameshji is completing 30 years of his endless musical journey and the Indian legends of Musical Industry is going to celebrate it in first ever one of its kind musical extravaganza, worldwide. And, he wishes to lunch the worldwide Journey from UAE, a place which is abundant with splendid music lovers of multicultural society.
A 5 hour long Musical concert, consists of a First session Instrumental Jugalbandi comprising of 50 renowned violinists, the legendary Percussionist Shivamani, famous Flutist Ronu Majumdar, One of the Finest Sitarist Purbayan Chatterjee, Base Guitarist Mohini Dey, Keyboardist Prakash Ulliyeri, The Limca Award winner and Child Prodigy Ojas Adhiya, Ghadam Player Giridar Udupa, Sanjay Das, Indian Play back singer Ms Madhusree Narayanan, daughter of Pandit Ramesh Narayan & the Legend Pandit Ramesh Narayan itself – The Director of the entire show.
Second session will be the legendary show of Ganagandharvan Padmavibhushan Dr K J Yesudas, Padmabhushan S P Balasubramaniam, The South Indian Nightingale K S Chitra, Famous Music Composer and Singer Shrinivas, Upcoming wonders Vijay Yesudas, Madhu Balakrishnan, Manjarai, Madhuvanti Narayan, Madhusree Narayan, Harishankar, Abhilash Venkitachalam, Vinay Ramdas & Nayana Nair.
